Little Pig and Wolf
Version A

The story of Little Pig and Wolf is a version of The Three Little Pigs. This story is a great deal different from the common Three Little Pigs. This version can be depicted through the marxism theory which can be viewed through the writers class structure, the oppression of characters, and the means at which the oppressor revolts.
In the story of Little Pig and Wolf, there is a sense of class structure not of rich and poor, or even smart and ignorant. It is a class structure of strong and weak. The little pig lives in a home where he keeps to himself and does not bother anyone. On the other side, you have this wolf that comes to the pig’s house every day and tries to eat the pig. The wolf represents the bullies that are trying to take advantage of the weak or less inclined. The pig represents the general public today. The pig knows the intentions of the wolf and does absolutely nothing about it. The pig stands by and lets the threats to continue.
The pig lives in an oppressed world where he cannot go out and do what he needs to do for fear of the wolf. This is evident in the story when the wolf comes to the pigs door and tries to coax the pig out by saying “I know where a plenty of grapes. You better come and go with me.” The pig, however, is smart enough to know that the wolf is trying to set him up.
The pig is oppressed with his freedom of movement around his natural environment by the wolf. In the story, there is just one example of how the pig is tricked and even chased into his home from the wolf. It does not however go into the past of the harassment of the wolf. The wolf comes every day and knocks on the pigs door in hopes to coax the pig out of his house. One day the pig’s curiosity almost gets him into trouble. The wolf tells the pig about some grapes and the following day the pig sets off to get some. That time the wolf comes to the door and knocks with no answer. The wolf then goes straight to the grapes to find the pig where he then chases the pig to his house. The pig then ends up what you think helps the wolf by protecting and saving the wolf from a pack of dogs coming. What the pig actually does, is hide the wolf in a box drills holes into the box and then pours scalding hot water on the wolf to kill him. This represents the pig finally standing up and defending himself from the threats of the wolf all that time.
After reading this story and really looking deep into it, you can really see that the writer showed a class structure. Not only did the writer have a class structure but the writer also had the oppression of its characters where later that character stood up to its oppressor.
